Substrates
SI-CAL manufactures each decal to match chemically to the surface it is meant to adhere to. Our heat transfer decals have been successfully applied to the following substrates:

SI-CAL decals can be transferred to any number of additional materials not listed here. We have decorated many types of products and you are encouraged to submit your problem materials to our technical staff for decorating solutions. SI-CAL recommends you provide samples of any material you wish to decorate. SI-CAL will analyze the color, adhesion, and properties of the material samples to determine the optimum ink/lacquer/carrier construction.
Selection of Inks
SI-CAL manufactures our own ink and lacquers with a wide range of properties and applications. Each offers chemically different adhesion characteristics to better match your particular material and needs. Of course, SI-CAL will also match any color. SI-CAL ink constructions will accomodate your decorating requirements.

Lacquer Options
For increased protection and durability on certain products, SI-CAL offers a selection of lacquer coats sandwich-bonded to the ink for the desired performance feature. Each lacquer offers different combinations of fade resistance, tensile strength, abrasion resistance, low temperature activation and adhesive characteristics.
Selection of Release Carriers
SI-CAL has available a variety of release carriers. Each offers different combinations of release, tear resistance, gloss, and color contrast (for inspection and photocell positioning). Choosing the right carrier for your application is made simple with the assistance of our R&D team.
Artwork
Lacquers, eyemarks, identification and registration marks can be incorporated
into the art work when needed. We will then submit proofs for your approval.
Production Process
SI-CAL uses screen printing exclusively for all heat transfer decal orders. SI-CAL extensively pre-tests the ink-lacquer-carrier combination to confirm optimum suitability. SI-CAL supplies careful quality control in the printing of your heat transfer decals. Our decals are available in easy to handle rolls. Rolls can be 1 to 18 inches wide with image spacing up to 26 inch repeats. Use SI-CAL's "no charge" technical consulting service to ascertain the feasibility of using the heat transfer process for your decorating project.
